When having pipe replaced in your home, always save time and energy by using compression fittings that will eventually corrode and leak. For the love of God, don’t solder. Soldered joints last way too long. This will ensure that you (or the next guy) will have to do more work to replace the plumbing that you littered with compression fittings. And as a bonus, the green corrosion looks pretty. If you’d rather not see the beauty of corrosion and leaks, hide the piping with drop ceiling.

One helpful tip: Make sure when you join steel pipes to copper, to not use a diaelctric. This helps the corrosion process as well as future modifications or upgrades. Eventually the pipe will burst in the wall giving it a nice soggy texture. FYI
